You can choose from two addictions-related programs at this institution, depending on your preferred means of study. The on-campus option is the MA in Addiction Counseling: Advanced Practice, while the online program is the MA in Addiction Counseling: Integrated Recovery for Co-occurring Disorders. 

While this is a full-time, 60-credit program, there are part-time options available. Your classes will be taught in the evenings and weekends, giving you greater flexibility around your existing schedule. There are three start dates in January, May, and September, and you will participate in a clinical placement in your first semester in the program. 

The on-campus program comprises 60 total credits, with a full-time study duration of 20 months, while the online option lasts 24 months for the same number of credits. This specific program at Bemidji State University is a master’s program in social work. The program typically lasts for two years full-time and includes around 900 to 1,200 hours worth of hands-on experience through an internship. If you meet the advanced standing requirements, you may be able to complete the program in as little as one year.
